Severn Days with Mr Dandy’s Hair Candy

I have spent seven whole days with Mr Dandy’s Hair Candy, during this time I have learnt a lot about it, how well we get on together and if we will be suited to one another long term, I was looking for a good hair product that was vegan-friendly but not a pomade and not really a wax or a paste, these products are great for certain hair styles but not for me, I needed something a bit more flexible, hopefully this review will help you.

Day one went extremely bad, it was no fault of the product though. I jumped out of the shower, towel dried my hair and took a large scoop of the hair candy, massaged it into my hands and rubbed it into my hair then went about my day, the style was set but it was extremely shiny, now when I say shiny it was almost chrome shiny it didn’t look right at all and it had set so so hard, this was what I wanted, a little bit of shine with a good set but not like this, tomorrow I needed to remember to use less, much much less, over the next few days I experimented with various amounts until I found the amount that was perfect for my hair, in the picture below, you can see just how much I need, my hair admittedly isn’t all that long anymore but Mr Dandy’s Hair Candy really does go a long way.

Rubbing the product into the palm of your hands and then massaging it through your hair will make sure that all of your hair gets good coverage if you leave the product on your finger and try and apply it you will get clumps of product in certain parts of your hair that get hit first this will make your hair look stuck together when it dries.

This is what my hair looks like after applying just a little bit of product, there is no hair spray used just the hair candy, my hair blows in the wind and returns to this state, my fringe was a bit straighter than this when I first applied the product but the days wear took some of the hold out of the style.

If you are looking for a good hair product that isn’t a wax or a pomade and is vegan-friendly Mr Dandy’s Hair Candy is really worth a shot I would totally recommend it, oh and it smells just amazing.

Stone Broken @ The Tivoli 20th May 2017

Back to The Tivoli last night, this time to see an upcoming band that I hadn’t seen before, Stone Broken, they are on the Download Festival bill and with them playing a show so close to home I wanted to see them in a more intimate venue.

I got there early, so much so I got to see the two support acts, arriving early certainly paid off, getting a spot right on the barrier. This band didn’t disappoint, the atmosphere in the Tivoli was electric playing songs from ‘All In Time’ their current album but also treating us to a number of new tracks off their forthcoming album, the crowd singing along to almost every single song it was a fantastic evening.

If you haven’t seen Stone Broken yet and they are playing somewhere close to home, get down and see them, you won’t be disappointed. I didn’t take my camera but got some pictures on my phone which are below.

Iron Maiden – Book Of Souls 2017

Yesterday evening marked the very first time I would ever see Iron Maiden, I had been told that the show was absolutely fantastic, friends had been before, some of them many times, I had heard story’s of how I was going to be blown away but I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I had seen Shinedown previously at an appearance at Download Festival but not Iron Maiden, I walked away from the show absolutely buzzing, it was everything everyone had said it would be, the atmosphere, the set itself everything was just amazing, I am not sure that I will ever get to see them again but if you do have a chance to it is well worth it.

I took some pictures too….

Monkey Wrench Debut Gig – Review & Photos

Monkey Wrench, the Foo Fighters cover band from the small Shropshire town of Oswestry took to the stage at the Saith Seren last night for their debut gig, the set opened with [ ] and blew the crowd away after that the hits just kept coming one after another. vocals, guitar, bass and drums were all exceptional the time and effort these lads had put into this bad hadn’t gone un-noticed, Saith Seren was packed full of people wanting more and more from this great new band, if you were not there last night, make sure you are there for the next gig, you don’t want to miss this.

Spud on vocals and lead guitar was just amazing, Gareth on rhythm guitar was exceptional you could tell from the presence he had on the stage that this was everything they had worked for, Glenn on bass was alive on the stage feeling every single song and Barry on drums was on point, the drums were tight and his solo midway through the set into my hero was a fantastic twist that nobody had seen coming.

31 Years Old

I am 31 years old today, 31 years old, when I stop and think about it, it really is hard to believe, the years have gone by so fast, It only feels like yesterday that I was out playing on the front, in the street I grew up on with my friends, friends that have long since moved on, married, had children or moved away with work, I am a dad, have a great job and working on me.

Having said that though, I am grateful for today, for the friends that I do have and the family around me because I wouldn’t be where I am now, today, without them pushing me in every way to be a better me and supporting me in the choices I make.
I may be celebrating another birthday as a single pringle but I have faith that one day I will meet someone who wants to be with me just for who I am, someone willing to give me a chance, for now though I am going to enjoy my day.

Salt Of The Earth Deodorant

I guess deodorant isn’t something you would really pay all that much attention to, I know I didn’t, I would walk into the store find one you like and walk out, right?

Since going Vegan I have started looking more and more into what is inside products, what makes them work and deodorant was one of them products I wanted to replace, I won’t go into the reasons as this is a review.

After I had decided I no longer wanted to use aerosol deodorant anymore I began searching for something that wouldn’t let me get smelly during the day, that was good for my body and as a bonus would smell good (the last point wasn’t mandatory) I found so many different solutions, I could make my own deodorant, much like powder variety you get from Lush or I could buy a deodorant from a company that already had the formula worked out, I choose the latter, that is when I found Salt Of The Earth from Crystal Spring.
