Save Some Green Toothbrush

Today I want to talk about toothbrushes, yep that is right toothbrushes, for as long as I can remember I have been using a generic toothbrush you can pick up at any chemist or health store, the kind with nylon bristles and plastic handles, you know the ones, right? Recently I discovered bamboo toothbrushes made with bamboo bristles and a bamboo handle, much nicer on the environment as they degrade much better when you put them into the trash, and the materials they are made from are responsibly sourced also they don’t give off nasty chemicals when they degrade so and overall better for the environment.

So what is the toothbrush actually like Rich?

It comes delivered in a brown paper packet, there is no plastic to open, simply tear the top of the packet and remove the brush, you can put the paper packet right in the trash and it will bio-degrade, or pop it in the compost bin if you have one.

Llandudno March 2017

I had some annual leave to use up before April 1st, I have been thinking about taking it for a while and now and as it is almost April 1st it seemed like a good time to get something in the diary. The UK has been having a nice spout of warm weather recently so I decided to take advantage of it and planned a day out to Llandudno, just me and my camera.

Llandudno isn’t all that far away from home actually, it only takes about an hour to get there, I had a lovely walk around exploring the seafront and taking pictures along the way. I really enjoyed just being out there, my earphones in my ears, camera in my hand just enjoying the moment.

One thing I did see while I was out today was love, lots of people in love, walking along the beach, hand in hand, chatting about various things, laughing with one another, I hope one day I can have that.

Toms Shoes

New shoes you say? I hardly ever buy new shoes I either can’t find ones that are comfy enough or I just can’t justify the large amounts of money some of the shoes cost for the very short life they seem to live, however I have been looking for some slip on slip off type shoes to replace my old tatty vans which had seen better days, they had a massive hole in the bottom and my feet would get soaked every time I went outside when the floor was wet or damp, which in the UK is pretty much all the time, so they had to go.

Liar Liar & Fat Rabbit Review

Liar Liar has been open in town for a while now but I have never been, today I decided to give it a shot.

You are made to feel welcome from the moment you walk in, the customer service is fantastic I ordered a Latte with Soya milk, while I was waiting a lovely lady came over “Are you eating in?” I was “You can go and find a seat if you like, we will bring your drink to you” I did just that, I found a stool in the corner, the same girl came over “There is plenty of space upstairs if you would like to sit up there” amazing, I went upstairs and found a seat, it was really roomy, not cramped the windows are huge and let is loads of natural light, I just sat there for a while taking it all in.

My drink wasn’t that far behind me, delivered in a lovely mug I took a sip, usually, I like a sugar in my coffee but this was lovely, it is really hard to explain but the coffee tasted delicious, much nicer than Starbuck’s offering anyway.

Apple Watch Review

I have had the Apple Watch for a good few months now and thought I would share my thoughts on it as a daily watch.

I decided to get an Apple Watch around Christmas 2016 I had been wanting one for a while but held off waiting, when the Apple Watch 2 was released I decided that I wanted to get one, I started saving and when Christmas came I had enough money to go out and buy one, I opted for the 42mm watch face made from Aluminium with a white sports wristband, I don’t know what it is about watch bands but certain bands don’t sit nicely on my wrist, the Apple Watch band however, is super soft and really comfortable.

So, about the watch itself…

The home screen is completely modular, you can select a number of different faces and depending on the face you choose you can choose different ‘widgets’ from Watch supported apps installed on your phone to show up in these widget areas, for example, I have Dark Sky weather installed on my phone and you can see it shows the information about the weather in the middle of the watch face, pretty cool right?

Harissa Aubergine Kebabs

Editorial Note: This was a follow along, taken from Issue 5 of Vegan Living Magazine which was an extract from 15 Minute Vegan

We have been reading the above-mentioned magazine for a while now and there are some really yummy recipes in there, tonight I decided to give one of them a go, Harissa Aubergine Kebabs with a mint relish, they turned out really well and tasted just lovely, I might make a small change next time and have them inside a pitta bread, I think they would be easier to eat that way but still they were pretty amazing.

I took a few photos along the way to show what was to come.
